Je suis généralement intéressé par la façon dont les poissons (et parfois d’autres organismes aquatiques) sont affectés par différents facteurs de stress environnementaux. Ces facteurs de stress comprennent des éléments tels que le manque d'oxygène, les parasites, les vagues et le débit d'eau fluctuant, la salinité élevée, etc. Je suis particulièrement intéressé par la variation au sein des espèces (différences intraspécifiques) le long des gradients environnementaux naturels.

Les parasites peuvent profondément affecter le comportement et la physiologie de leur hôte. Cependant, leur influence sur le comportement et le mouvement des animaux (i.e. les décisions concernant le lieu et le moment du déplacement) reste largement inexplorée, en partie parce que les parasites sont souvent petits et peu visibles.
