Mon programme de recherche est intégrateur et combine la biologie moléculaire, la physiologie, la génomique, la transcriptomique, la protéomique et la biologie évolutive afin de tenter de répondre aux questions suivantes : comment se forment les nouvelles espèces? Comment les organismes s'adaptent à leur environnement? Mon équipe s’intéresse particulièrement au rôle des mitochondries et de leur génome dans les processus d’adaptation et de spéciation. Mes recherches s’efforcent donc de mieux comprendre la fonction, la structure, l’expression, l’évolution et la transmission des génomes mitochondriaux, la coadaptation des génomes mitochondriaux et nucléaires et les mécanismes physiologiques d’adaptation des animaux aux contraintes environnementales.

Research interest

My research program is integrative, using approaches including molecular biology, physiology, genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and evolutionary biology to address the following questions: How do new species form? How do organisms adapt to their environment? My team is particularly interested to better understand the role of mitochondria and their genomes in speciation. In this perspective, my research aims at better understand the function, structure, expression, evolution and inheritance of mitochondrial genomes, the co-adaptation of mitochondrial and nuclear genomes and the physiological mechanisms of animal adaptation to environmental conditions.
